E & ICT Academy (Phase I)

Introduction

(Sanction received in Aug. 2015, MoU signed in Nov. 2015 vide Administrative Approval No. 3(6)/2012-HRD(Vol.V)(Pt.), dated 09.11.2015, )

  • Government of India had announced a National Policy on Skill Development which has set a target of skilling 500 million people by 2022 in the domain of Electronics & IT. The objective of the above scheme is to set up seven (07) Electronics and ICT Academies as a unit in IITs, IIITs, NITs, etc., for faculty/mentor development/up gradation in the areas related to Electronics & ICT.
  • Our institute has recently been provided gross funding of Rs. 10 Crores over four years, by Department of Electronics & IT, Ministry of Comm. & IT, Govt. of India to set up such an academy for providing specialized training to faculty and industry persons in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Daman & Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli.
  • Other SIX more academies have been granted to 03 IITs- Kanpur, Delhi & Roorkee, 02 NITs- Warangal, Patna and 01 IIIT- Jabalpur.
